Fromage du Monde 2007 |

jones the grocer and Porsche Sydney South enjoyed a wonderful day for Fromage du Monde 2007, the world's largest publicly judged cheese tasting event, on October 28th. In its fourth year, Fromage du Monde brought together a raft of speciality Australian and international cheeses under the one roof to be tasted, compared and enjoyed. With the public judging the event, the results send a clear view of where the consumer feels Australian specialty cheeses are regarded against some of their international counterparts, without the influence of labels!
Winners of each category;
a) Fresh Curd Soft - Non Goats milk : Grandvewe - Birch Bay Blonde (A2)
b) Fresh Curd Textured - Non Goats milk : Garofalo Buffalo Mozzarella (B4)
c) Fresh Curd - Goats milk : Jannei Buche Noir (C3)
d) Goats Milk - white mould : Kyrtren Rondelle (D2)
e) Marinated : Margaret River Feta (E3)
f) Brie : Jindi triple cream (F8)
g) Camembert : St Andre Coupe (G7)
h) Washed Rind : Pont L'Eveque (H9)
i) Blue Mould : Binnorie Duetto (I4)
j) Cheddar : Margaret River Club (J3)
k) Semi hard & hard pressed : Parmigiano Reggiano (K16)
Grand Champion Cheese Fromage du Monde 2007 : Grandvewe - Birch Bay Blonde.
