a new year, a new you – 2022 will be the year of body and soul!

It is the year of Body and Soul at popular food emporium, Jones the Grocer. Obsessed with made-from-scratch, good, honest food, Jones the Grocer will kick off 2022 with a new dazzlingly delicious clean-eating menu. The new breakfast, lunch, dessert, and drinks menus are created with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients with vegan, vegetarian, and plant-based choices.

This new clean-eating menu along with easy home recipes, artisan profiles, ingredient ideas, entertaining tips, mindfulness, yoga and loads more have been beautifully compiled in a 36-page Body and Soul Lifestyle Magazine celebrating gourmet food for everyday living.

The Body and Soul Menu

The made-from-scratch Body and Soul menu offers not only tasty and healthier eating choices but more sustainable ones too. Indulging in plant-based alternatives is an easy way to make a positive impact to your health and the environment.

Start the day right with an omelette reimagined with verve and oodles of flavour.  The plant-based Chickpea Omelette is filled with local kale, local micro herbs, a deliciously creamy broad bean and avocado guacamole, marinated beetroot, and a garnish of Jones the Grocer’s exclusive Belos tomato & chilli vegan jam. For something heartier and a tad sweet, dig into David’s Bircher with eight-hour T2 Fruitalicious tea-steeped quinoa and oats, braised rhubarb, almond and cocoa butter, berry compote, acai coconut yogurt, vanilla, Hatta honey, and pumpkin seeds topped with toasted coconut.

Over the years Jones the Grocer’s house made baked beans have been the most asked for breakfast side dish. Inspired by this frequent brekkie request they’ve come up with the zingy, vegan Masala Braised Beans. It’s a lovely, slightly spicy haricot and black bean ragu, local wilted greens and local cherry tomatoes, tempered masala and roasted cashew nut butter on house baked toasted sourdough.

The Vegan Sublime salad is just like it sounds – sublime! It brings together coconut roasted sweet potato on a bed of massaged local kale, tangy pickled mooli, local oyster mushrooms, marinated local beetroot and avocado, cucumber ribbons, cranberries and a sunflower seed dressing.

Equally delicious, the Aubo-Pesto offers locally grown aubergines marinated first, filled with house-made caponata, topped with a layer of pesto crumbs before being grilled to crispy perfection.

Jones the Grocer’s chefs have searched across the UAE for producers who care about how they farm, how long it travels to reach the plate and how it tastes.

Sea Bream en Papillote

The Sea Bream en Papillote’s shining star is sea bream farmed in Jebel Ali, Dubai. It is steam roasted with confit garlic, herbs and house made dairy-free pesto in a parchment paper parcel which is slit open just before serving – like opening a present for dinner!

There are two unmissable plant-based Body and Soul desserts. Chocolate Fondant and deconstructed Aussie classic, Smashed Pavlova.

The Chocolate Fondant, served with luxury vegan Pana Organic salted caramel ice cream, salted caramel drizzle, and popcorn, cuts through to a delightfully gooey chocolate and coconut centre. The iconic Australian pavlova makes a smashing appearance in a Smashed Pavlova – house made crumbled crispy meringues, lemon and vanilla custard, mango and passionfruit, raspberry jam, mixed fruits, almond soil, and local herbs.

For the perfect accompaniment to the Body and Soul desserts, guests can choose from Jones the Grocer’s wide range of exclusive T2 Brews and Jones’ exceptional coffee.

With ten fabulous dishes and four plant based drinks, such as a Salted Caramel No-Milk Shake, there is no better place than your nearest Jones the Grocer to kick off your Veganuary goals. The Spring Body and Soul menu cooks at Jones the Grocer’s stores till 31 March 2022.
